What is Snowman World?
Snowman World is an exhilarating snowy playground. It offers thrilling winter activities, including snow and ice slides, a snow labyrinth, and an ice skating rink. While enjoying fun activities, you can have lunch or dinner in the spectacular Snow Restaurant or the indoor Café Ensilumi, or have a cool drink in a glass made out of ice at the Ice Bar.
Where is Snowman World located?
Snowman World is located in the Santa Claus Village, Finland, approximately eight kilometers from the Rovaniemi town center.
How to get to Snowman World from Rovaniemi city
You can hop on local bus number 8, take a taxi, or drive — there’s free parking available at Santa Claus Village. It’s a short 10 minute ride.
What can I do at Snowman World?
At Snowman World, you spend a fun day outdoors with traditional winter activities: slide down the snow and ice slides, explore a fun snow labyrinth, skate on a real ice skating rink. Enjoy lunch or dinner and admire fine snow and ice sculptures in Snow Restaurant, have a drink in Ice Bar or warm up in indoor Café Ensilumi.
Is Snowman World open year-round?
Unfortunately no. Snowman World operates seasonally, from 6th December to 17th March, depending on weather conditions.
How much time should I plan to spend there?
Tickets are valid for the entire day, allowing you to enjoy activities at your own pace. You can also, for example, go and meet Santa and return to Snowman World using the same ticket to continue the snow fun.
Are pets allowed in Snowman World?
Unfortunately not.
Can I visit Snowman World without a ticket?
A ticket is required for entry.
Can I go out from the Snowman World if I have the ticket?
Yes you can! You can for example visit Santa Claus and come to back to have fun in Snowman World. Ticket is valid for the whole day.
Do I need a ticket to enter Santa Claus Village?
No ticket needed! Entry to Santa Claus Village is free of charge. You can walk around, meet Santa, and explore the Arctic Circle freely. Some activities and attractions (like Snowman World or husky rides) have their own separate tickets.
TICKETS AND RESERVATIONS
Do I need to buy tickets in advance or can I buy them at the entrance of Snowman World?
It is possible to book the tickets on the spot as well. However, to secure the availability and ensure a smooth check-in, we highly recommend booking the tickets before your arrival.
Can I change the date for my booking?
We can move your entrance ticket, lunch or dinner reservation without additional charges to another date, when we have received a request for this to sales@snowmanworld.fi with min. 24 hours’ notice.
Are there discounts for groups or families?
Unfortunately we don’t have discounts.
Can I get a refund if I cancel my ticket?
If the booking is cancelled earlier than 24 hours before the starting time, we will refund the payment 95 %. For bookings cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice or in case of no-show, we will keep the right of charging a cancellation fee of 100 %.
Do I need to print my ticket, or can I show it on my phone?
Printing is not necessary, you can show the ticket on your phone.
Is there a different price for children and adults?
The ticket is the same price for children and adults. All ages can enjoy our snow fun activities!
Can I purchase a season pass?
Unfortunately we don’t have seasonal passes.
Do I need to buy the entrance ticket if I only want to visit the Ice Bar?
Yes. Snowman World is an attraction and entrance tickets are mandatory to access the Ice Bar since it is located inside Snowman World. With the same ticket you also get to admire the unique snow & ice sculptures in the venue, have fun in the Ice Disco, or join the outdoor activities, such as snow labyrinth, ice skating or tobogganing.
I’m visiting Santa Claus Village in November, but I couldn’t book the tickets online. Can you help?
We open on 6th December, so unfortunately tickets are unavailable for November. In November we are building the Snowman World out of snow and ice, and by 6th December we have finished our building work and are ready to welcome visitors. However, our indoor Café Ensilumi is open in November!
I’m visiting Santa Claus Village on 1st – 5th December and I couldn’t book the tickets online. Can you help?
We open on 6th December, so unfortunately tickets are unavailable for 1st – 5th December. However, our indoor Café Ensilumi is open!
I’m visiting Santa Claus Village in late March, but I couldn’t book the tickets online. Can you help?
Unfortunately Snowman World closes for the season on March 17th. Snowman World is made out of snow and ice and it relies on cold weather to operate, which is why our usual season runs from early December to mid-March.
ACTIVITIES AND ATTRACTIONS
Are the snow and ice slides open for all ages?
Yes! Please note that the infants always go with their parent.
Can I see the Northern Lights from Snowman World?
Everything is possible, but Snowman World is not the best place because of the light pollution. We recommend you to visit Artic Snowhotel & Glass igloos which is known as a good place to spot Aurora. More information: https://arcticsnowhotel.fi/en/northern-lights/
Can we meet Santa at Snowman World?
Santa’s office is in walking distance from Snowman World. You can meet him there every day! Our tickets are valid the whole day so you can go and meet Santa and return to Snowman World afterwards.
Are there any indoor attractions?
Yes! We have Café Ensilumi, which is the sweetest indoor café in Santa Claus Village, and great for warming up and spending relaxing moments after all the active fun in the snow.
Can I take pictures with snow sculptures?
Absolutely! Snowman World is full of details, very instagrammable venue.
Can I leave my children to the park?
Unfortunately we don’t have service for that. The parents are always responsible for their children and should assess whether their child is ready or old enough to participate in each activity. We want everyone to have a safe and enjoyable experience!
DINING AND REFRESHMENTS
Do I have to prebook lunch or dinner?
If you are planning on visiting us in December, we highly recommend pre-booking the lunch and dinner in advance since they will get fully booked. If you are planning on coming in January – March, pre-booking might not be necessary if you are flexible on the time of the lunch, but pre-booking is always the safest way to ensure a table.
I have a table reservation, could you tell me how long dinner usually takes please?
Dinner usually takes about 1 hour maximum. Since the environment is cold, we try to keep it faster than in usual restaurants.
I have just purchased entrance tickets, but I want to book a lunch or dinner at the Snow restaurant too. Can you help?
Our sales team is happy to make you a reservation for lunch. Kindly just send us an e-mail to sales@snowmanworld.fi and advise your preferred lunch seating (12.00, 13.30 or 15.00), as well as the number of adults and kids (2-12 years) for the booking. Dinner seatings are at 17.00.
Do you offer vegetarian or vegan options?
Yes, vegetarian and vegan options are available both in Snow restaurant and Café Ensilumi.
Is there a bar at Snowman World?
Yes! There is an Ice Bar where cold drinks are served in glasses made of ice. We also serve hot drinks. Café Ensilumi indoors serves a wide range of drinks.
Can I bring my own food or drinks?
Unfortunately not, but we have a wide range of food and drinks – even drinks from an ice glass!
Is there a place to get hot drinks?
Yes, hot drinks such as hot chocolate, local glue wine and hot blueberry juice are available at the Ice Bar and Café Ensilumi.
Are there souvenir shops?
Café Ensilumi has a small souvenir shop where you can buy e.g. hand and toe warmers, gloves, hats and Snowman toys.
Are there places to buy snacks?
Yes, in Café Ensilumi. In addition to hot and cold drinks, we also offer savoury snacks and sweet delicacies made from local ingredients with international twist.
WEATHER AND CLOTHING
What should I wear to Snowman World? / How to dress in Lapland?
The weather in Lapland can change rapidly, so we recommend checking the forecast a few days before your trip and dress in layers. Winter temperatures range from 0°C to -35°C, typically between -10°C and -20°C.
Here are few tips how to dress so you can better enjoy all the winter fun in Snowman World!
Layers: Start with thermal underwear and wool or cotton socks. Add a loose-fitting middle layer like fleece or wool for warmth. On extremely cold days, add a third layer under your outerwear to stay dry and comfortable.
Footwear: Waterproof boots that cover the ankles are essential so that snow doesn’t go in your shoes and wet your feet. Leave some space at the toes, and wear at least two sock layers for warmth.
Outerwear: Loose-fitting, water- and windproof clothing, such as a winter coat and ski trousers, is best. Keep your head, hands, and feet warm with hats, mittens (better than gloves), and scarves made from warm materials like wool.
Children: Dress children warmly and encourage movement to keep them warm.
Do you provide any gear for outdoor activities?

Is it safe to visit if the temperature is extremely low?
It is important to have good winter clothing and shoes. You can always come indoors to Café Ensilumi to warm up and buy hand and feet warmers from our shop.
What happens if it snows heavily?
Snowing is part of the fun in Lapland! In Lapland, we are very much accustomed to heavy snowfall, and our team is well-prepared for it. Our maintenance team keeps the necessary roads and walking paths clear of snow, ensuring safe access for all guests. We monitor the weather closely and act promptly to maintain smooth operations even during snowstorms.
Can I borrow snow gear for kids?

HEALTH AND SAFETY
Are there any restrictions due to the weather?
In Lapland, we are accustomed to all kinds of weather, and so far, there have been no restrictions at Snowman World due to weather conditions. As Snowman World is 100% built from snow and ice, extreme warm periods could potentially affect our opening hours. However, to date, we have never had to make any changes because of the weather. If any restrictions were to arise, we would inform all clients as soon as possible.
Are activities safe for young children?
Snowman World is a winter-themed activity park specifically designed with children in mind. All our activities, including the snow labyrinth, ice skating, and tobogganing hill, are suitable for kids of all ages. However, parents are always responsible for their children and should assess whether their child is ready or old enough to participate in each activity. We want everyone to have a safe and enjoyable experience!
What safety measures are in place for the snow slide?
For the snow slide, we have safety measures in place to ensure a safe experience for all guests. Our staff monitors both the start and end points of the slide to ensure that only one guest is sliding at a time. Additionally, the slide is maintained several times a day to keep it safe and good condition.
Can I participate in activities if I’m pregnant?
Yes, it is absolutely fine to explore the area, admire the snow and ice sculptures, enjoy the ice bar, as well as experience the snow labyrinth and ice disco while pregnant. However, for activities like ice skating and the tobogganing hill, we recommend participating based on your own comfort level and consideration. Always listen to your body and consult with your healthcare provider if you have any concerns.
Is there someone to help if I get lost?
Yes, there is always staff available around Snowman World at every activity area, the Ice bar, and the Snow restaurant. If you need any assistance or if you happen to get lost, please feel free to approach any of our team members, and they will be happy to help you. We’re here to ensure you have a great experience!
Are there lifeguards for snow activities?
While there are no lifeguards specifically for snow activities, there are always staff available around Snowman World at every activity area, including the ice bar and ice restaurant, to ensure the safety of our guests. Our team is trained to assist with any issues and help ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.
Do you allow smoking at Snowman World?
Smoking is not allowed inside Snowman World, but there are designated smoking areas located outside the venue. These areas are clearly marked, so you can easily find them if you wish to smoke during your visit.
